Africa is determined to become a global powerhouse within the next 50 years. With the vision of an intergrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa which is people driven as encapsulated in Agenda 2063. 
Agenda 2063, is the blueprint for inclusive socio-economic and structural transformation of the continent. 
To popularize the industrialisation framework of Agenda 2063 and build capacity of the media, the department of Trade and Industry of the African union commision AUC, organised a 3 day media orientation workshop themed: “Building Media Awareness on Accelerated Industrial development For Africa (AIDA) and related strategies: Industrial Policy Literacy”. Which held recently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Addressing the select group of journalists drawn from the 5 regions of the continent,  Mr Rongai Chizema, chief technical advisor and head AIDA implementation and coordination At the AUC says the media is a very important tool for development as the continent is on a transformative journey to recreate itself.
